Açaí, a typical fruit from the Amazon region, is produced by the açai tree, a palm tree that can reach up to 30 meters in height and produces up to four bunches of the berries. It is born in humid areas and the production of the crop takes place during the Brazilian winter, that is, in the second half of the year. Currently the fruit is also produced in countries that cover the Amazon region such as Ecuador, Venezuela, Colombia and the Guianas.
With a high protein content, the açaí gains the status of fitness food, as it collaborates in the formation of amino acids, an ally in building muscles. In addition, it is a natural energetic. Other açaí curiosity is that, unlike what many people believe, its consumption does not get fat, if it is consumed in moderation and without much addition of accompaniments.
